Mary Jane Whittaker, 83 of Vandalia, Ohio passed away on Monday May 14, 2018 at 6:45 AM at Hearth and Home, Vandalia, Ohio. She was born December 26, 1934 in Richmond, Indiana the daughter of the late George & Gertrude “Gerty” Emmons.
She worked as a Secretary retiring from NCR, she also worked for numerous school districts. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose, Greenville, Ohio and the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, Greenville, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Duane E. Whittaker; brothers: Clarence Emmons, John Emmons, George Emmons.
She is survived by her children: Cynthia & Dick Brabant of Vandalia, Ohio, Steven & Donna Whittaker of Dumfries, VA, Regina Warren of Terra Haute, Indiana; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother: Dwight Emmons of Greenville; numerous nieces & nephews.
Services will be held on Friday May 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Fred Bernhard officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Heartland Hospice.
