Lewis L. Stahl age 75, of Versailles passed away at 2:10 PM on Monday, February 4, 2019, at his residence.
Lewis was born September 7, 1943, in Greenville to the late John D. & Mary E. (Warner) Stahl Sr. In addition to his parents, Lewis was also preceded in death by a son, Lewis L. Stahl II; daughters, Cynthia Hart Combs and Vivian Kay; brother, John D. Stahl Jr.; sister, Judith Stahl; and brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Christian.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Dolores “Dee” Smith Stahl whom he married July 4, 1992; daughter, Kelli Stahl of Indianapolis, Indiana; son-in-law, Charles Hart; granddaughters, Valerie Hart and Catherine Hart; sister. Ronda Christian of Versailles; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

Lewis served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1964. He retired from Nickol Monument in Versailles where he sold monuments for 30 years. Lewis was a member of the Covington AMVETS, Versailles Eagles, and Creekside Breakfast Club in Versailles. Lewis served on the Greenlawn Cemetery Board for over 17 years. He was a former member of the Versailles Masonic Lodge.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Military honors will be conducted by the Versailles Veteran’s Honor Guard Saturday at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles will be at a later date.
