Esther M. “Granny” (Knapp) Heltzel, age 84 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Friday July 10, 2015 at 8:50 PM at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. She was born February 14, 1931 in Randolph County, Indiana the daughter of the late Ben & Louise (Keener) Cole. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Donald D. Heltzel on September 7, 2001; son: Steven D. Heltzel; brother: Leroy Cole; sister: Mary Cole.
She is survived by her daughter: Susie George; grandsons: Barry T. (Shelley) Deem, & children: Makenna, Roman, & Savanna; Travis D. Petry and children: Logan Petry, Dalton Petry, Cole Petry, & Destinee (Scotty) Macaulay; great great granddaughters: Veda Louise, & Daysee Mae; daughter in law: Patricia Heltzel; sister: Wilsie (Howard) Thornburg.
Services will be held on Wednesday July 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester, Indiana. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home. A Moose Lodge of Sorrow will be conducted by the Ladies of the Moose at 2:15 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Rest Haven Nursing Home.
