Mrs. Lois E. Higgins (December 21, 2015)

Mrs. Lois E. Higgins, 70, of Greenville, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

She was born on May 15, 1945, in Seco. KY, a daughter of the late Ralph Watson and Irene (Ashley) Pigg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 7 brothers and sisters.

Lois was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loved being a grandma. She was a great cook, pet lover, and enjoyed putting out a garden every year. She was a member of Triumphant Christian Center, and very involved with her church and church activities.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Wayne Higgins whom she married on May 16, 1970; children, Gary (Beth) Higgins of Greenville, Franklin (Stephanie) Higgins of Richmond, TX, Shane (Tess) Higgins of West Milton, OH, David Higgins of Greenville; grandchildren, Erica Greer, Vincent Higgins, Daylon Poston, Danielle Poston, ,Dustin Higgins, Corey Higgins, Ian Higgins, KC Higgins, Becca Higgins; great grandchildren, Hayden, Alexis, Natiley, Logan, Kinlee, Isaac, Wesley, Steven; sister, Helen Davis of Orange Park, FL; sister-in-law, Kay Pigg of Winchester, IN; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 AM, on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Triumphant Christian Center 1129 South Towne Court, Greenville, OH with Rev. Sam Shilot officiating. Graveside services will be held 11 AM, on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends may visit prior to the service from 10-11 AM also at the church. Family request memorial contributions be given to American Diabetes Association and Cancer Association of Darke County. Services has been entrusted to Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.

Hudson Scott Nestor age 17, of Pitsburg, Ohio passed away at 7:53 P.M. on Monday, December 21, 2015. Hudson was born July 14, 1998 in Dayton, Ohio to Heather (Rinehart) Hines & fiancé, Scott Howell of Pitsburg and Scott Nestor & April Walker of Pitsburg.

In addition to his parents, Hudson is also survived by his siblings, Danielle Nestor of Pitsburg, Kaden Spirito of Pitsburg, Gage Wackler of Pitsburg and Adalynn Hines of Pitsburg; paternal grandparents, Jerry & Cheryl Nestor of Greenville; maternal grandparents, Dan & Connie Rinehart of Greenville; maternal great-grandmother, Virginia Fourman of New Madison; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Hudson was also preceded in death by a sister, Katlynn Marie “Katy” Nestor; paternal great-grandparents, Ira & Lena Nestor and Naomi Flatter; and maternal great-grandparents, Jesse Fourman and John & Jean Rinehart.

Hudson was a junior at Franklin Monroe High School and attended Edison State Community College where he was a freshman. Hudson enjoyed playing soccer and baseball. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, snow board, snow ski and boating. Hudson also enjoyed cars and working on them. Hudson worked for Yeah Man Trucking in Greenville.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Castine Church of the Brethren Life Center 624 U.S. 127 South Arcanum with Pastor Greg Hyre officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Castine Life Center. Katlynn Marie “Katy” Nestor age 13, of Pitsburg, Ohio passed away at 7:53 P.M. on Monday, December 21, 2015. Katy was born December 27, 2001 in Greenville, Ohio to Kelly Hiatt & Christopher Thornton of Pitsburg and Scott Nestor & April Walker of Pitsburg.

In addition to her parents, Katy is survived by her siblings, Danielle Nestor of Pitsburg and Jordynn Thornton of Pitsburg; paternal grandparents, Jerry & Cheryl Nestor of Greenville; maternal grandparents, Carmelisa & Terry Miles of Hollansburg, Curt & April Hiatt of Palestine and Carol & Gary Nichols of New Paris; maternal great-grandmothers, Dorothy Hiatt of Palestine and Emily Tuco of Hollansburg; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Katy was preceded in death by her brother, Hudson Scott Nestor; paternal grandparents, Ira & Lena Nestor and Naomi Flatter; and maternal great-grandfathers, John Tuco and Duane Hiatt.

Katy was an 8th grader at Franklin Monroe Middle School. Katy loved playing soccer and was active in cheerleading and choir. She loved horseback riding, snow skiing and shopping.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Castine Church of the Brethren Life Center 624 US 127 South Arcanum with Pastor Greg Hyre officiating. Joseph C. Goubeaux age 77, of Russia, Ohio passed away at 11:54 A.M. on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at his residence. Joseph was born September 18, 1938 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Martin & Bernadette (Francis) Goubeaux.

Joseph is survived by his children, Jerry & Judy Goubeaux of Russia, James & Trudy Goubeaux of Russia, Joyce & George Freisthler of Anna, John & Heather Goubeaux of McCartyville, Jeff & Kim Goubeaux of Russia and Jo Ann & Jeff Benecke of Ridgeville Corners; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Sr. Rosemary Goubeaux of Dayton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita M. (Matthieu) Goubeaux on August 6, 2002 whom he married September 27, 1958; brother, Paul Goubeaux; and sisters, Zita Fullenkamp and Adeline Riethman.

Joseph was a farmer and formerly worked at Francis Schulze Manufacturing in Russia. He was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia with Rev. Fr. Martin Fox celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Remy Cemetery in Russia. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Shelva Jean Rose, age 77 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 10:37 AM Wednesday December 23, 2015 at the Village Green HealthCare Center. She was born January 1, 1938 in Union City, Ohio and the daughter of the late Delver O. Ray and Thelma H. (Williamson) Helmer.

She was retired from Van Leer Container following 20 years of employment. Prior to that she had work 10 years at Fram Corporation and 10 years in the nursing field.

Shelva was a member of the New Apostolic Church of Greenville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Larry Rose; son Craig Rose; step parents Ralph Helmer & Marguerite Ray; brothers Ronnie Ray and Rodney Helmer and sister Beverly Ray.

Shelva is survived by her children Shelia A. (Bruce) Netzley, Jeffery L. (Lauri) Rose and Tammie S. (Rock) Riffle all of Greenville; grandchildren Corey (Keri) Rose, Megan Rose, Ashley Camacho, Steven Rose, Abby Rose, Jacob Rose and Ben Rose; great grandchild Maddox Rose, Ruthie Rose, Ellie Rose, Layla Rose, Dani Rose, Eli Rose, Eden Rose, Hunter Rose, Carson Barton, Parker Grill, Emma Rose and MacKenna Rose; sisters Lucreda (Joe) Brandt and Joan (Don) Holdeman all of Greenville; brother Ralph (Janet) Helmer of Greenville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Private Memorial Services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio.

Mrs. Helen Marie (nee: Owen) (Amrine) Evans (December 24, 2015)

Mrs. Helen Marie (nee: Owen) (Amrine) Evans age 93, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on December 24, 2015. Mrs. Evans was born May 27, 1922 in Champaign County, near Woodstock, Ohio to the late Ralph E. & Nora (Yoder) Owen.

Mrs. Evans was a retired employee of Denison Division, Abex Corporation in Columbus, Ohio. She, and husband Harold Evans, moved in 1987 to Panama City, Florida. She was a longtime volunteer at the Visual Arts Center of Northwest Florida, in Panama City. She also is a 1940 graduate of Union City, Ohio East Side High School. Helen loved crossword puzzles and was a fierce competitor at Scrabble. Helen enjoyed connecting with friends and relatives on Facebook, and loved seeing pictures and videos of her great-grandchildren. She played the piano and baritone, and once as a young woman, about 1940, played Under the Double Eagles on both instruments over the radio simultaneously (baritone in right hand, piano with left). Helen was very generous, never critical and a friend to all.

Helen was preceded in death by two husbands, James Wesley Amrine, Marysville, Ohio and Harold W. Evans, Columbus, Ohio; and two brothers, Robert and James (Ted) Owen, Woodstock, Ohio.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Bonnie L. (David) Evans of Livermore, CA; three sons, Dr. James W. (Louise nee: Loynachan) Amrine, Jr. of Morgantown, WV, Ralph P. Amrine of Columbus, OH and Mark A. Amrine of Greenville, OH; two sisters, Louise Oswalt of Union City, IN and Josephine Wilson of Monticello, FL; three grandchildren, Erica (Russell) Anderson of New Orleans, LA, Daniel (Rachel nee: Waldron) Amrine of Fairmont, WV and David (Kyra nee: Beach) Amrine of McDonough, GA; eight great-grandchildren, Macy Amrine, Abigail Amrine, Neil (Max) Amrine, Aiden Amrine, Caleb Amrine, Alia Amrine, Clio Anderson and Evangeline Anderson; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Amrine of Marysville, OH and Anna Mae Blevins of Three Forks, MT; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

According to Helen’s wishes, her cremains will be interred at Woodstock Cemetery in Woodstock, Ohio on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 1:00 P.M.; please feel free to attend. A celebration of Helen’s life will be held at the Evangelical United Methodist Church 117 Franklin Street Union City, OH 45390 at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 followed by a dinner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical United Methodist Church 117 Franklin Street Union City, OH 45390 or State of the Heart Hospice 1350 North Broadway Greenville, OH 45331.

Jim Eyer age 73, of Greenville and formerly of Eldorado passed away at 5:51 P.M. on Friday, December 25, 2015 at Wayne HealthCare Center in Greenville. Jim was born October 10, 1942 in Greenville to the late Harry W. & Genevieve (Kendall) Eyer.

Jim is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Lyle & Hope Eyer of New Madison; daughter & son-in-law, Lisa & Brian Slade of Arcanum; grandchildren, Jordan & Amanda Slade, Mycaela Slade, Derek Eyer and Cody Eyer; and a sister & brother-in-law, Jean & John Lantz of Centerville.

Jim owned and operated Jim’s Barber Shop in Eldorado for 49 years. Jim was a member of Fort Black Masonic Lodge No. 413 of New Madison. Jim was a volunteer fireman for Eldorado Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Zechar Bailey Funeral home in Greenville with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Pauline G. Brunswick age 81, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at her residence. Pauline was born October 2, 1934 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Chalmer & Gertrude (Bey) Mangen.

Pauline is survived by her husband, Carl H. Brunswick whom she married June 11, 1955; children, Linda & Bruce Laub of Bradford, Robert P. & Vicki Brunswick of Ft. Loramie, Randy & Renie Brunswick of Ft. Loramie, Alvin Brunswick of Greenville and Eugene & Christine Brunswick of Greenville; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers & sisters-in-law, Cletus & Kay Mangen of Versailles, Ervin & Barbara Mangen of Rossburg and Basil & Linda Mangen of Versailles; sisters & brother-in-law, Loretta & Viro Rosenbeck of Versailles and Doris Mangen of Piqua; brother-in-law, Donald & Sylvia Fortman of Ft. Loramie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was also preceded in death by her sons, John Noel, Michael Joseph and Jerome l. Brunswick; and grandson, Christopher Bertke.

Pauline retired from Fram Corporation in Greenville where she worked for 38 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 233 West Third Street Greenville with Rev. Fr. John R. White celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greenville. Rodney K. Teaford age 68, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:10 A.M. on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Rodney was born March 2, 1947 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Frank & Hazel (Dye) Teaford.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara (Baker) Teaford whom he married June 21, 1969; daughters & son-in-law, Stacey & Jeff McMiller of New Madison and Kristy Godown & Jeff Shilt of Greenville; grandchildren, Justin McMiller, Macy Godown and Ethan Godown; brothers & sister-in-law, Rudy & Ann Teaford of Greenville and Bruce Teaford of Greenville; sister & brother-in-law, Arlene & John Sanders of St. Augustine, Florida; his English Bulldog, Lincoln Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Rodney was also preceded in death by his brothers, Terry & Colin Teaford.

Rodney served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Union City Body Company. Rodney was a member of the Greenville American Legion and the Greenville Elks.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Terry Haworth officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Fred C. Clark, 87, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015. His final days were spent surrounded by his family remembering his remarkable life.

Mr. Clark was born May 27, 1928 to Bert Clark and Mildred (Hiatt) Clark. He was a prominent farmer in Darke County and lived a majority of his life in Palestine, Ohio. Throughout his life he enjoyed sports of any type, baseball, basketball, and golf being his favorite. In his later years, Mr. Clark became an avid golfer at their retirement home in North Fort Myers, FL where he had over six holes-in-ones.

Mr. Clark will be remembered as a hardworking, friendly, kind, and loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Joan (Cole) Clark and his brother Gene Clark.

He is survived by brothers, Gale Clark (Greenville, Ohio); Ted Clark (Greenville, Ohio); daughters Jennifer (Tom) Bish (Greenville, Ohio); Cathy Moss (Louisville, KY); grandchildren – Kelly Bish-Herzog (Troy, Ohio); Elizabeth Bish-Laffan (Corvallis, OR); Clark Moss (Louisville, KY); Robert Moss (Louisville, KY); and seven great-grandchildren.

At his request, no service will be held.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and State of the Heart Hospice.

Barbara J. “Barb” Coby, age 74 of Rose Hill, Ohio passed away at 9:35 P.M. Monday December 28, 2015 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center Greenville. She was born May 26, 1941 in Darke County, Ohio and the daughter of the late Harry “Pale” and Bernadine “Deany” (Rockwood) Cline.

Barb was retired from the Huffy Bicycle Company.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth C. Coby August 28, 2007; stillborn son Terry L. Coby; sisters Joann Foster, Sandy Hurt and Karen Husted and brother Forrest Rick Cline.

Barb is survived by her children Beverly (John) Wilkinson of Winchester, Indiana and Brenda (Robert) Brown of Ft. Recovery, Ohio; grandchildren Tiffany (Nick) Thomas, Courtney (Bobby Wentz) Wilkinson, Lindsey (James Allen) Brown, Alex Wilkinson and Louie Wilkinson; great grandchildren Breanna, Alana, Dalton and Willow Thomas; sister Debbie (Ernie) Lee of Greenville; brother Marvin Louie (Eleanor) Cline of Streetsboro, Ohio; lifelong friend Maxine Brumbaugh of Lightsville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday December 31, 2015 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Ron Hoeksema officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until time of the services in the funeral home.

Barbara Ann Sides, age 71, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Village Green Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on May 5, 1944 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Talmage Miller & Alma (Baker) Filbrun.

Barbara is survived by her daughter and son in law, Becky & Greg Wardlaw of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher Sides and Audrey Wardlaw; great grandchildren, Brantley Sides; brother and sister in law, Larry & Theresa Miller of Greenville; brothers in law and sisters in law, Charles & Melinda Sides of Anderson, IN, Dennis & Janice Sides of Greenville, Verna & Jim Cook of Covington, OH and Marie Sides of Pennsylvania; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Sides whom she married on November 9, 1963 and son, Chris Sides.

Barbara was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Greenville and she enjoyed crafts, cross-stitching and gardening. She worked as a floral designer for many years.

There will be a service held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. Dr. Jim Vandermark officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 1, 2016 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.

James “Jimmy” Gross, age 53, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 1, 2016 at 10:07 PM at his residence. He was born on November 18, 1962 in Richmond, Indiana, to Kenny Gross of Greenville and the late Myrna (Gregg) Gross.

In addition to his father he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Teresa (Hoff) Gross of Greenville, Ohio, whom he married on September 16, 1983; sons and daughter in law, Jamey & Diana Gross, Michael Gross and Joe Campbell all of Greenville; step mother, Tammy Gross of Greenville; sister and brother in law, Tammy & David Gregory of Greenville; sisters in law and brother in law, Glenna Broomhall, Tammy Hoff and David Hoff all of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Greenville, National Rifle Association and Impala SS Club of America. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He worked at the Darke County Sheriff’s office for 15 years, Versailles Police Department, security at Upper Valley Medical center and most recently at GTI.

There will be a service held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Mr. Phillip Garbig officiating. Burial will follow in the Stelvideo Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.

Harold Leon Johnson, age 68, of Palestine, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 3:10 PM at Reid Hospital, Richmond, Indiana. He was born on March 22, 1947 in Troy, Ohio, to Gladys Kate (Johnson) Weaver of Arcanum, Ohio.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 25 years Tamara (Kreitzer) Johnson of Palestine, whom he married on August 29, 1990; son, Brian Johnson of Palestine; mother in law, Sue Kreitzer of Palestine; brother, Daniel Weaver of Ansonia, OH; sisters, Darlene Ward of Arcanum, OH and Jennifer Furey of Huber Heights, OH; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis and David Weaver and father in law, Bennie Kreitzer.

Leon enjoyed drag racing.

There will be a private services held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

Mr. Charles E. “Charlie” Keaser, 81, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, January 3, 2016, surrounded by his family.

He was born March 21, 1934, in Delaware, Ohio, the son of the late O.F. and Ethel (Siders) Keaser. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Keaser, daughter-in-law, Ellie Keaser; and Sisters Joanne Heffington and Linda Brenner.

Charlie delivered beer for 19 years for the late Jim and Adele Hunt, then worked for his friend Jim Buchy at Buchy Foods. He then went back to work as a salesman for the Schoenling Brewery in Cincinnati and became well known across the United States as “Charlie The Little Kings Man”. Charlie loved his grandchildren and loved going around to all the clubs. One of his proudest moments was being inducted into the Ansonia Wall of Fame for all his high school athletic accomplishments.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marie (Kaiser) Keaser whom he married on September 4, 1954; children, Terry (Marge) Keaser, Susan (Mike) Treadway, Darlene (Greg) Grubb and Allen (Nancy) Keaser, all of Greenville; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Gump of Greenville, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville with Fr. John White officiating. Burial will follow St. Mary’s Church Cemetery.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday, January 5, from 3 – 7PM at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. The Elks, Moose and Knights of Columbus will hold services Tuesday evening starting at 6:45PM at the funeral home. The family request memorial contributions be given to St. Mary’s School or State of the Heart Hospice.

Mr. Keith E. Richards, 81, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Heartland Nursing Home in Greenville.

He was born September 22, 1934 in Ansonia, Ohio, a son of the late Harley L. and Edith M. (Johnson) Richards. In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by a brother Lester Richards and sisters, Patty Tyler and Peggy McCoy.

Keith spent his whole life working for the railroad. He started his career at the age of 17 with New York Central in 1952. He continued on with Penn Central which later became Conrail. He retired in 1996 after 45 years of service. He loved to work on cars and tinker with anything mechanical. He was a mechanic, electrician, and a plumber; a literal Jack-of-all-Trades. Above all, Keith was a wonderful father, a devoted husband and a friend to all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lorena (VanDeGrift) Richards whom he married on November 10, 1962; children, Thomas Jeffrey (Cheryl) Richards of Greenville, Michael Lee Richards of Greenville, Brian Keith (Amanda Williams) Richards of Covington, Ohio; a sister, Lois Marshall of Union City, Ohio; brothers, Jim (Joyce) Richards of Williamsburg, KY, Steve (Phyllis) Richards of Xenia, Ohio and Stan Richards of Ansonia, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Chris Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Ansonia Cemetery.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, January 7, from 5 – 7PM at the Funeral Home. The family request memorial contributions be given to American Heart Association.

The family would like to thank all the kind staff at Heartland Nursing Home for your kindness. It was greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.

Robert Loman Schooley died on December 18, 2015 in Greenville, Ohio at the age of 82.  The middle of thirteen children, he was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 12, 1933 to the late Ida and Edgar Schooley.

He worked in various financial capacities at the American Aggregates Corporation throughout his career, including as Treasurer for nearly 20 years.  Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, had been an active member of the Greenville Lions Club and filled various leadership roles at the First Assembly of God Church during his 40 years of membership, including as a deacon and song leader.

Bob changed many lives with his generosity of spirit, and his impish wit endeared him to friends and strangers alike.  His greatest pleasure was uplifting others, but a close second was zipping around town in his black Beetle.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janice, his daughter Brooke of New York City and a brother Richard of Hamilton, Ohio.

Dixie Zendelene Miller, age 88 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 6:49 P.M. Sunday January 3, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living of Greenville. She was born February 22, 1927 in Sullivan, Indiana and the daughter of the late Rev. Fred and Cora (Hague) Hibbard.

Dixie was retired from Kroger’s of Greenville and had attended the Greenville Missionary Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Miller; son Rodney Miller and grandson Troy Miller.

Dixie is survived by her son and daughter in law Bill and Nancy Miller of Arcanum; grandchildren Kari (Bill) Ruby, Darla (Kyle) Gray, Roxanne (Dan) Perkel, Chad Miller and Debbie Miller (Jerry) Fox; great grandchildren Abbey Miller, Eli Miller, Noah Miller, Chelsi (Mike) Fry, Eric Ruxer, Kelton Gray, Trevin Gray and Simone Perkel as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday January 6, 2016 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until time of the services in the funeral home.

Dale J. Johnson (January 4, 2016)

Dale J. Johnson, Greenville, age 93, passed away at the Brethren Retirement Community on January 4, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Eaton, OH on October 23, 1922 to the late Raymond and Beulah (Ott) Johnson.  Dale served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged after the war ended. Dale married Margie (Smith) from McKee, KY on January 24, 1950, and lived in Greenville where they raised their 3 children.  Dale owned a Texaco Station in Greenville before working and retiring from Corning Glass Works.

Dale had a great smile, was always grinning with a sparkle in his eye, and loved to be with his family.  He loved tending to the lawn and garden, collecting coins, watching Cincinnati Reds baseball, playing cards, hunting and making homemade ice cream.  As difficult as it was for his family to see him decline in health during the past several years, Dale is with his Lord Jesus in his Heavenly Home enjoying what he loved most. Dale is survived by Margie, his beloved wife of 66 years; his children: Michael (Janet), Sebring, FL, James (Janet), Columbus, IN, Annette (Craig) Hohnberger, Pickerington, OH; and grandchildren: Christopher (Stephanie) Johnson, Lauren and Leah Hohnberger; and brother:  Willard (Margie), Eaton, OH; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.  In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his stepmother, Vonda (Ketring), Eaton, OH, his brother Kenneth, Troy, Ohio, and sister Carolyn Beasley, Eaton, OH. Visitation will be held Friday January 8, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio until time of the Celebration of Life Service starting at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Gary Oser officiating. Also the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct a Veterans Memorial Service at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will follow at the Zion Cemetery located outside of Eaton, OH.    Dale's family would like to give special thanks to all the compassionate caretakers and nurses at the Brethren’s Home Retirement Community Center and from the State of the Heart Hospice Organization. Rev. Everett Ted Wonder, age 91, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 2:15 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on November 7, 1924 in Carey, Ohio, to the late Irvin & Bertha (Stahl) Wonder.

He is survived by his foster children, Gary Burgard of Columbus, Ohio, Anika Juras of Hood River, Oregon, Susie Mouyos of Ramona, California, Linda Clark of Greenville, Ohio, Diana Blythe of Buxton, Oregon, Tracey Herrera of Lusby, Maryland, and Donna Busic of Dayton, Ohio; brother and sister in law, Lynn & Ruth Wonder of Lebanon, Ohio; sister in law, Jean Wonder; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean (Maser) Wonder; brothers, Robert and Morris Wonder; sisters, Alice Davie and Patricia Wonder.

Rev. Wonder was an ordained Elder in The United Methodist Church, with over 40 years of ministry serving churches around the West Ohio Conference. Most recently, he attended First United Methodist Church in Greenville, where he was formerly a director of children’s ministry. He also enjoyed 26 years of performance as a Christian Clown. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Greenville, and Blue Lodge Mason of Toledo, Ohio. Rev. Wonder has been very active in the Boy Scouts of America since 1958. He was a graduate of North Central College of Arts with a Bachelor’s of Arts in 1948, then he continued his education at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in 1951 with a Bachelor’s of Divinity.

There will be a service held on Friday, January 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the 1st United Methodist Church, 202 West 4th Street, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Angela Meeks officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at church. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.
