Maude Ellen Butts (December 23, 2014)

Maude Ellen Butts, 96, went to be with the Lord at 11:25 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the Village Green Healthcare Center in Greenville. Maude was born December 30, 1917 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Harley Earl & Julia Ann (Bixler) Marker.

Maude was preceded in death by her husband Raymond O. Butts to whom she had been married for 67 years; and four daughters Carolyn, Jane, and Marilyn Butts and Elaine Smith.
Maude is survived by daughters, Dorothy A. Beck of Troy, Billie Raye (Carl) Hess of Yoder, Indiana; son, Ray E. "Dean" (Susan) Butts of Greenville, son-in-law Jack Smith of Piqua; ten grandchildren, Rev. Stephen (Amy) Anthony, of Toledo, Ronald (Deb) Anthony, of Piqua, Tricia (Marty) Sutter of Marysville, Stephanie (Scott) Snell of Greenville, Denea (Brian) Collier of Toledo, Alisa (Stuart) Beisner of Versailles, Ryan (Kurstin) Butts of Ballwin, Missouri, and Gary (Brenda) Hess, Linda (Gary) Hitzeman and Dean (Laurel) Hess all of Indiana; twelve great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Mowery of West Carrollton; brothers, Otha Marker and Russel "Ike" Marker both of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews.

Maude was an active member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Greenville where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Deaconess and choir member. Maude retired from Neff Lettering after being a supervisor for 30 years. Maude was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Stephen Anthony officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery in Darke County. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Harold Arthur Weese age 75, of Greenville, Ohio went to be with Jesus at 10:40 P.M. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his residence with his loving family at his side. Harold was born April 1, 1939 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Arthur E. & Catherine (Wagner) Weese.

Harold is survived by his wife, Lois B. (Raines) Weese whom he married June 12, 1959; children, Pam & David Furlong of New Paris, Scott & Rhonda Weese of Greenville and Kim & Dave McMahan of New Madison; grandchildren, Briana Weese & fiancé, Dylan Meyers, Jacob Furlong, Natasha McMahan, Tristin McMahan and Rylee McMahan; great-grandson, Kysan Weese; nieces & nephews, Kathy Bowen, Sharon Bishop, Tim Weese, Barbara Wacker, Craig Hoblit and Donnie Hoblit; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale Weese and Jim O’Brian; and sister, Jean Hoblit.

Harold was a member of the Greenview Calvary Tabernacle in Dayton where he was very active. Harold was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, antique cars, and traveling to Pigeon Forge and Israel. Harold retired from Cadillac Gage in Greenville with 24 years of service as a machine operator.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Tim Livingston and Jim Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in the new section of Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. and Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Infant Torrance Ashlyn Symone Nichols, 3 days of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Thursday December 25, 2014 at 12:40 AM at Wayne Healthcare. She was born December 22, 2014 in Greenville, Ohio the daughter of Andrea Nichols of Greenville, & Wayland Block of Troy.

She is survived by her parents; brother: Terence Nichols; several ½ brothers & sisters; maternal grandparents: Shirley & Ivan Nichols; paternal grandparents: Claudia & Tom Block; several aunts, uncles, & cousins.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Greenville Cemetery Baby land. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday January 2, 2015 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to The United Way of Darke County.

Ralph E. Hileman Sr. (December 25th, 2014)

Ralph E. Hileman Sr., 83 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on December 25th.  He was born April 23, 1931 in New Madison, Ohio to Charles Hileman Sr. & Lucille Anderson.

Ralph served in the US Army from m1950 to 1953 in the Korean War and the Army Reserves until 1960.

Ralph was a retired truck driver and loved spending his time with his family and friends, playing bingo and talking trucks.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Norma (Hawkey), an infant daughter Linda in 1951, a grandson Scotty Niswonger in 1982, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Vickie (Jerry) Crawford of Greenville, Ralph (Vicky) Hileman Jr. of New Madison, Betty (Bret) Brant of West Manchester, and David (Kelly) Hileman of Arcanum, 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandsons, sister:  Marguerite Glunt of Greenville and several nieces & nephews, his little Chihuahua Buttons, his coffee buddies & the girls at Back In Time restaurant.

Services will be held on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Eric Fee officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison, Ohio.  Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday December 29, 2014 at the funeral home.  Veteran’s services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Dorothy May Rismiller, 92, of Greenville, formerly of Versailles, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Rest Haven in Greenivlle.

She was born February 6, 1922, in Coldwater, Ohio. A daughter of the late Fred and Fern (Warren) Fullroth.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Homer A. F. Rismiller, whom she married March 21, 1943; Children, Patricia Louise and David Arthur Rismiller; brothers, Edgar, Leonard H. and John Fullroth; sisters Mary Rike, and Martha E. Kanaus.

Dorothy was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in North Star. As a farmer’s wife her whole life, she ran the family farm. She was not afraid to work the farm, milk the cows and pay the bills. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Emma Weyrick of Greenville, Jerry L. (Nancy) Rismiller of Greenville, Steven H. Rismiller of Versailles, Michael (Millie) Rismiller of Versailles and Gail (Jerry) Lunsford of Batavia, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held 1pm Monday, December 29, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Star, Ohio. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends on Monday from 11am until the time of service at the church.

Jewell Louise Puterbaugh, 88, of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away December 25, 2014 surrounded by her family.

She was born May 28, 1926 in Covington, Ohio, a daughter of the late Tracy and Fae (Fourman) McMaken.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Nolan Puterbaugh, whom she married Dec. 11th. 1948; brother, Tom McMaken, and sister Jeanne Bridges.

Jewell is survived by her children, Jeff (Susan) Puterbaugh of Arcanum, Eddie (Judy) Puterbaugh of Arcanum, Chris Puterbaugh on Nashville, Ohio, Steve (Dana) Puterbaugh of New Madison, Ohio and Donna (Pat) King of Florida; a special niece, Barb Wolfe of Bradford; brother Rich (Pat) McMaken of Covington, Ohio and Pat Anderson of Bradford, Ohio; Jim (Polly) McMaken of Covington, Ohio, and numerous grandchildren and step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville, Cemetery.

Clement O. “Clem” Eckstein age 81, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:33 P.M. on Friday, December 26, 2014 at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Clem was born July 14, 1933 in Wendelin, Ohio to the late Clement R. & Teresa (Rammel) Eckstein.

Clem is survived by his wife, Eileen (Schmidt) Eckstein whom he married October 3, 1959; children, Dominic Eckstein & friend, Sharon Vogel of Greenville, Lisa & Larry Reigle of Tallahassee, Florida, Dennis Eckstein of Greenville and Rita & Michael Yarwick of Huber Heights; grandchildren, Courtney DiMaio, Brianna Gaffey, Erica Jones, Kailey Kurz, Brealyn Eckstein, Brandon Eckstein, Caitlyn Eckstein, Sophia Yarwick and Alaina Yarwick; great grandchildren, Keelia Gaffey, Layton Higgins and Madelyn Jones; brothers & sisters-in-law, Clarence & Alberta Eckstein of St. Marys and Eugene & Joan Eckstein of Coldwater; sisters & brothers-in-law, Cleophia Brunswick of Coldwater, Hilda & Clete Niekamp of New Bremen, Irene Mowen of New Bremen and Teresa & Bill Bowersock of Spencerville; sister-in-law & brothers-in-law, Virginia Walterbusch of Celina, Charles & Vera Schmidt of Coldwater, Ivo & Roseann Schmidt of Coldwater, Virgil & Velma Schmidt of Chickasaw, Paul & Janet Schmidt of Goshen, Ohio and Urban & Sandy Schmidt of Goshen, Ohio; special friends, the Mike & Sherri Jones Family of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Clem was also preceded in death by sons, Charles & Marvin Eckstein; daughter, Karen Eckstein; daughter-in-law, Cathy Eckstein; brothers, Lee & Herman Eckstein; sisters, Margie Benanzer & Imelda Keller; and father-in-law & mother-in-law, Henry & Leona Schmidt.

Clem was a graduate of the University of Dayton with a B.S. Degree in Education. Clem retired from Greenville High School where he taught for 19 years and Darke County Weight & Measures where he worked for 9 years. Clem was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville. He was a 3rd Degree life member of the Knights of Columbus Greenville Council 1796 where he was a former Grand Knight. He was also a 4th Degree Knight of the Assembly of St. Gasper De Buffalo where he was a former Navigator. Clem was also a member of the Greenville Eagles where he was a Golden Eagle.

Clem was a man with a big heart, who generously gave of himself and touched many lives.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 233 West Third Street in Greenville with Rev. Fr. John White celebrant. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville. A rosary service will be conducted by the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus at 5:30 P.M. and a 4th Degree Honor Guard Presentation at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Jerome B. “Jerry” Brown age 77, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 2:48 A.M. on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Jerry was born November 12, 1937 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Arden E. & Florence M. (Petitjean) Brown.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Carol A. (Deaton) Brown whom he married March 10, 1959; sons & daughters-in-law, Robert A. Brown of Versailles, Gary M. & Linda Brown of Versailles, David S. & Peggy Brown of Albany and Jeff R. & Carrie Brown of Versailles; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and brothers & sister-in-law, Bro. Jude Brown of Celina, Gene & Johanna Brown of Versailles and Nelson Brown of Greenville.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Pamela Brown; and brother, Lowell Brown.

Jerry served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jerry retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. He was a Golden Eagle member of the Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2347 and member of the Covington AmVets.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Bailey Zechar Funeral home in Versailles with Rev. Fr. James Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles with Military Honors conducted by the Versailles Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County. Harold Allen Simons, age 74, of Union City, Ohio passed away at 4:52 P.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at his residence. Harold was born February 28, 1940 in Versailles, Ohio to the late Roy & Elizabeth (McGreevy) Simons.

Harold is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda (Laine) Simons whom he married July 18, 1970; sons & daughters-in-law, Roy & Angie Simons of Union City, Ohio, Allen & Uni Simons of Milford, Indiana, Kevin Simons of Cromwell, Indiana and Johnny & Cari Simons of Greenville, Ohio; daughters & sons-in-law, Melissa & Tim Lear of Gettysburg, Ohio and Jodie & Dave Gibson of Hollansburg, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters & brother-in-law, Barbara & Paul Wiford of Centerville, Ohio, Helen Gerlach of Dayton, Ohio and Carol Shrayer of Sidney, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Harold was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Harold retired from Anchor Hocking in 2002 with 33 years of service. He was a member of the Versailles Eagles for many years.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Zechar Bailey funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Matthew O’Shell officiating. Steven D. Eadler, 65, of New Madison, passed away on December 26, 2014 at his residence. Steve was born on July 28, 1949 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Forest and Evelyn (Dalrymple) Eadler.

Steve was a 1967 graduate of New Madison High School. He served as mayor of New Madison for 13 years. Steve was on the New Madison Village Council for 10 years and was very active in many community activities. He was on the New Madison Fourth of July Committee, New Madison Christmas Light Committee, and helped with the Tri-Village Backpack Program. Steve was a member and actively involved at New Madison United Methodist Church. Steve had also served as Past President of the Darke County Mayors Association.

In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by a sister and brother in law, Carole and Larry Koons.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Lisa (Fields) Eadler; two daughters and son in law, Michelle Griffith of Pendleton, Indiana and Jaime and Jason Yelton of Centerville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Garrett and Colyn Griffith, Trinity Yelton and Logan Martin; two brothers and sister in law, Tom Eadler of New Madison, and Dave and Robin Eadler of New Madison; a sister and brother in law, Mary Beth and Patrick Ryan of Tipp City; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM at New Madison United Methodist Church with Rev. Carol Duffield officiating. Friends and guests may visit the family on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM also at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Madison Christmas Lights, New Madison Fourth of July Committee or to New Madison United Methodist Church.

Doyle L. Burns, 81 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Sunday December 28, 2014 at 11:47 AM at Reid Hospital, Richmond, Indiana.  He was born February 28, 1933 in New Madison, Ohio the son of the late George E. & Leola Mae (Lawrence) Burns.  He worked at Neff Lettering for 40 years and was a member of the Greenville Moose Lodge.

He is preceded in death by his parents; & his daughter & son in law:  Cindy & Mike Studabaker.

He is survived by his wife:  Jeannette (Marshall) Burns of Greenville; his children:  Barbara J. Burns of Greenville, Sharon Robbins of Hollansburg, Dennis Burns of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Susan Hutzell of Falls Church, Virginia; grandchildren:  Justin Burns, Lisa Hawley, C.J. Robbins, Cathy Whittaker, Scott Studabaker, Kristin Studabaker, Allison Wines, Nicholas Hutzell, & Deanna Smedlund; 7 great grandchildren; numerous cousins & close friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday December 31, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Venus officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. Winifred Jean Voiles age 91, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 9:50 P.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at her residence. Winifred was born August 1, 1923 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Fred & Wilma (Doty) Spence.

Winifred is survived by her husband, Edgar Ray Voiles whom she married March 25, 1945; son & daughter-in-law, Jerry & Susan Voiles of Arcanum, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Judy Voiles of Greenville; grandchildren, Matthew, Mandy, Missy & Troy; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Brody, Brecken, T.J., Phoebe, Payton and Gavin.

In addition to her parents, Winifred was also preceded in death by her son, Tom Hull Voiles on March 23, 2013; and sisters, Helen Pierce and Dorothy Detmer.

Ronald C. “Hermie” Delk, 76, of Greenville, passed away Sunday December 28, 2014 at his residence.

He was born July 27, 1938, in Darke County, Ohio, a son of the late Irvin and Martha (Noggle) Delk.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Delk.

Ron was a veteran of the United States Army where he served with the 101st airborne division “Screaming Eagles”.

His is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary K. (Bruner) Delk, whom he married July 5, 1960; 3 children, Timothy (Jennifer) Moore of Delaware, Ohio, Kelly (David) Stull and Susan (Denny) Ruble, both of Greenville, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, Marcus Moore, Amanda Rider, Benjamin and Zachary Stull, Alexandra and Molly Ruble; 3 great grandchildren, Collin and Allison Moore, and Finley Rider; 4 brothers and sisters, Carol Lutz, Joann McKee and Cathy (George) Bashore, all of Greenville, Ohio, and Gary Delk of Washington State.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Joseph (Joe) Ryan Mills (December 28, 2014)

Joseph (Joe) Ryan Mills, age 38 of Arcanum, Ohio passed away on Sunday December 28, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.

Joe was born December 20, 1976 in Greenville, Ohio to Mark and Sue (Myers) Mills. He was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy- a form of Muscular Dystrophy- at nine months old. In spite of a shortened life expectancy, Joe flourished and proved the doctors wrong thanks to 38 years of exceptional caregiving by his biggest supporter-his Mom. Joe attended Gorman School in Dayton through fifth grade before moving to Arcanum Public School to complete High School, graduating in the top 10% of his class. He went on to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems at Wright State University in 2000. He was a software engineer for LexusNexus for eight years. Joe loved sports, especially Red baseball, and Bengals and Ohio State football. His last big outing was planning a trip for many family members to watch the buckeyes beat Wisconsin for the Big 10 Title. Joe was also a fantastic uncle and enjoyed spoiling and joking with his seven nieces and nephews.

Joe is survived by his parents, Mark and Sue (Myers) Mills of Arcanum; sister, Julie (Chuck) Edmonson of Springboro; brother, Jeff (Van) Mills of Blue Ash; nieces, Jada and Jasmyn Edmonson and nephews, Jared, Jase, Jaxson, Jacoby Edmonson and Ridley Mills. Joe also shared a special loving friendship with his first cousin, Karla (Schneider) Guinigundo of West Chester. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who he loved to tease and beat at card games. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George (Joe) and Arline (Myers) Mills of Gordon and maternal grandparents, Donald and Evaline (Snyder) Myers of Arcanum.

Visitation will be Friday January 2, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Services will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday January 3, 2015 at Beechwood Golf Course 1476 State Route 503, Arcanum, Ohio with interment following in Ithaca Cemetery. Per Joe’s wishes, please wear casual attire on Saturday-OSU, Bengals, or Reds gear, if you prefer. A party to celebrate Joe’s life will be held at Beechwood after the burial.

Memorial contributions may be mad in Joe’s name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or a charity of your choice.

A. Gale York, 73 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday January 1, 2015 at 2:52 AM at Heartland of Greenville. He was born March 19, 1941 in Darke County, Ohio the son of the late Millard & Gladys (McBride) York. He was a farmer and worked construction and later retired from 3-Sigma. He attended Ansonia Schools.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Carl York, & Don Hupman York.

He is survived by his wife: Donna (Yount) York of Greenville whom he married July 24, 1960; his daughters & sons in law: Deanna & Randy Harrison of Arcanum, Gail & Ben Overholser of Greenville; grandchildren: Nicole & Brian Pohlman of Greenville, Josh Overholser of Zanesville, Ohio; great grandson: Grant Pohlman.

Services will be held on Monday January 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Gregg G. Feurer, 66 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on December 31, 2014. He was a resident of Greenville, Ohio most of his life.

Gregg was a 1966 graduate of Greenville Senior High School. Gregg & Jan owned H & R Block of Greenville from 1979-1993 and also farmed. Gregg was a member of the Dorper Sheep Association.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Wayne & Virginia (Jackson) Feurer, & his father in law and mother in law: Dean & Betty Hart.

He has been married to Janet (Hart) Feurer for over 43 years. They are the proud parents of Matt & Stephanie Feurer, Tony & Jodi Feurer, and Missy Feurer all of Greenville; three wonderful grandchildren: Mic, & Nate Feurer, & Alexandria Begoon; brother & sister in law: Tom & Jeanne Feurer of Frederica, Delaware; sisters & brother in law: Ginny & Ken Gladyzewski of Painesville, Ohio, & Janis Feurer of Duncan BC, Canada; sister in law: Pam Hart of Greenville; & several cousins of Anderson, Indiana.

Services will be held on Saturday January 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Terry Haworth officiating. Shirley Aleene Lipps, age 79 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:23 A.M. Thursday January 1, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. Shirley was born October 30, 1935 in Montgomery County, Ohio and the daughter of the late Loren C. and Mary A. (Nyman) Prior.

Shirley was a homemaker, seamstress, loved gardening, crocheting, crafts, and when the children were younger served as a Cub Scout Mother and the family referee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Freddie J. Lipps November 20, 2004; son Thomas Lipps in 2014 and her brothers Ronnie and David Prior.

Shirley is survived by her children Teresa Green of Greenville, Rick Lipps of Greenville, Steve (Donna) Lipps of New Madison, Diana Miller of Vandalia, Greg Lipps of Greenville and Jason Lipps of Greenville; 7 grandchildren 11 great grandchildren and a lifelong family friend Gwen Hurd.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday January 7, 2015 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Patrick Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday 1 hour prior to the services in the funeral home.

She loved to sew and cook. Ellen’s life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Foster Frederick Meier on June 3, 1980; brothers: Harold & Ralph Sites.

Annola Allread, 78, of Greenville, passed away Friday morning, January 2, 2015 at Reid Hospital in Richmond.

She was born June 27, 1936 in Darke County, daughter of the late Clyde and Vinnie (Zellers) Snyder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Allread; 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Annola was retired from the Brethren Home in Greenville and was the former owner/operator of the Front Street Inn. She was a member of the First Congregational Christian Church in Greenville, the Women of the Moose, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Linda) Allread, Randy (D.J.) Allread, Kathy (Dennis) Weaver all of Greenville, and Rob (Susan) Allread of Hamilton, OH; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and sisters, Duck Curtis and Yvonne Mangen both of Versailles.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 7 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Don Myers officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5-7 p.m., with the Women of the Moose having a Lodge of Sorrow at 6:45 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions be given to the Greenville Moose Lodge #329.

Wayne D. Coblentz, age 91 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 5:30 P.M. Saturday January 3, 2015 in the emergency room of Wayne Healthcare Center in Greenville. He was born April 1, 1923 in Union City, Ohio.

Wayne was a well-known business man in the Greenville area since 1946. Wayne retired from his State Farm Insurance Agency in August 2001. He was a graduate of the Gettysburg High School in 1941. Served in the Air force during WW II from January 1943 through June 1946. He was awarded the Purple Heart, after being wounded at Leyte Island during the invasion of the Philippine Islands in October 1944. Wayne was an avid golfer, life member of the Greenville Bowling Association, and the last living charter member of the Darke County Horseshoe Club. Wayne was a very successful fastpitch softball pitcher in the late 1940’s and 1950’s in Ohio and Indiana. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also was active in and supportive of many local programs including Youth for Christ, Campus Crusade, Senior Moments, Masonic lodge, Hospice and helped with the return of Southern Gospel Music concerts to Darke County. Wayne enjoyed music, and for several years he used his God given talent to play the piano, and several string instruments, with local Country Western bands. He was a 70 year member of the Oakland Church of the Brethren, and the last few years, he has been a member of the Greenville Missionary Church. Wayne left no doubt that the primary joy of his life was his wife Virginia (Hartman), and their family. She preceded him in death May 9th 1992. Also preceding him in death was his parents, Nathan K. and Sylvia (Cain) Coblentz, one sister May (Coblentz) Rhoades; five brothers Lonnie, Raymond, Robert, Floyd and Glen.

Wayne is survived by his children Charles (Donna) Coblentz of West Virginia, Patricia (Paul) Nelson of West Alexandria, Oh., Wayne Allen (Karen) Coblentz of South Charleston, Oh., Deborah (Robert) Kuhnle of Greenville, Oh., Sheri (Joe) Birt of Columbus, Ind., Kristi (Curtis) Falldorf of West Alexandria, Oh. and Rebecca (Joel) Hootman of Arcanum, Oh. Grandchildren Donica (David) Rogers, Kevin (Kristy) Coblentz, Michele (Chris) Petsko, Lori (Stephen) Barnes, Elizabeth (Jeff) Crumbaker, Lizabeth (David) Waugh, Zac (Jamie) Coblentz, Sara (Scott) Johnson, Katie (Brett) Hill, Rachel (Matthew) Harmon, Nathan (Molly) Birt, Katherine Birt, Adam, David and Jenna Falldorf, Josiah, Isaiah and Jesse Hootman. Great grandchildren Olivia, Maggie and Jessica Canoy, Tyler, Kylie and Bryson Coblentz, Megan, Emily and Alex Petsko, Logan and Lorin Barnes, Gracie Crumbaker, Nathan Lily, Ethan and Tyler Waugh, Walker Hill, Addison, Michael and Matthew Johnson and Marcus Harmon. Sister Marceille Hyland, sister in law Barbara (Schafer) Coblentz, Brother in law and Sister in law Charles and Doris Hartman and Nephew Michael Hartman. Wayne was also known as “Uncle Wayne” to many Nieces and Nephews who he loved dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday January 8, 2015 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in the
Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.

The Greenville Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic Memorial; Service at 7:45 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home and the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will present Full Military Honors Thursday.

It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to the State of the Heart Hospice of Darke County or the Greenville Missionary Church.
